The office of the Auditor General for Local Government was established in the year 1989 in line with the recommendations of 1988 report of the Dasuki committee on the reform in the civil service. And the pioneer Auditor General was Late Alhaji Abubakar Ahmad Badawi.
To promote accountability and the best use of public money in the Local Government Councils of the State so as to make a difference for the people by promoting answerable, honest and productive government that reflects a commitment to sustainable development.
We want our work to be acknowledged and viewed by the Kano State House of Assembly, the Kano State Government, the Local Government Councils and the general public as reliable by producing high quality reports that are objective, timely, accurate, useful, clear and candid in the accountability process.
